Journal Entry 29
1) This morning it was time to do my presentation, anxiety rushed through my body. Today my reading report was due and I had to present it to the class. I'm the type of person that doesn't think anything about it until its time to do it. But for some reason doing presentations in college gives me anxiety unlike high school. Knowing everyone would be judging me, my stomach just felt an terrible feeling. The emotion that I am feeling as I am writing this happiness because I got the presentation over with and it wasn't even bad.
2) Last weekend was my birthday, I was not expecting anymore presents because I thought I already received all them the night before. Before leaving to go out to dinner my mom gave me box to unwrapped, as I saw what was in the box just a jolt of happiness shocked my body. I was so happy that my mom took the time to get me something else and that it was that I have been for so long and not even expecting it. It might sound cheesy because it was just a birthday gift but some times its the small things that make you happy. As I am writing this I can still feel the emotion that I did on my birthday.
3) As I was writing about the first experience my emotional feeling did change, at the time I felt anxiety and when writing about it I felt happiness. I believe that I felt happiness because I was glad that I got it over with. Also the experience is never as bad as you feel before you do it as when you do it, that is what I have experience. The second emotion didn't change because at the time I was happy and then writing about just made me happy again.

Journal Entry 28
1) I have never liked or believe in missing class unless it was because of a illness, an appointment or something important. I have experience many opportunities where my friends tried to get me to skip so we can go do something, but usually its easy for me to turn them down. There is one specific time that really had me thinking to skip, my personal integrity had been tested. My senior year in high school my role model Lauren Conrad was doing a book signing at the Clackamas Town Center but she was going to be doing the sighing during school hours. My friend is also a huge fan and really wanted me to go with her. I was about to go, but then I realized that there will be a next time and it was more important to go to school and get my work done.
2) The commitment that I have committed to myself was in high school that I would never fall under peer pressure. Sometimes it could get hard when I had more than one friend trying to talk me into to something and sometimes I wanted to please them. If someone was trying to peer pressure me I just remembered that I promise myself that I would do what I wanted to do, so my commitment to myself was stronger than the peer pressure I received from friends or classmates. I was able to keep the commitment because I'm a strong stubborn person that does what she wants, so if someone tried to pressure me it usually ended the friendship because if they where a good friend they would have known that no one could pressure me doing something.

Journal Entry #21
1) The beginning of my senior year in high school I became very off course. Taking easy classes, not doing my homework and not studying for quiz's and test. My education was starting to became just a game because I preferred to have fun with my friend or go to sporting events. I had the choice to do homework or go to Starbucks with my friends after school, well I choice to go to Starbucks. After the next semester started to get harder I realized that I needed to start getting serious and do my work. To get myself back on course I made certain days to have fun and the other days to concentrate on school work. I knew I had to make this change if I wanted to go to college and achieve in completing my career goals. The benefits I received in changing my course was being able to graduate high school with my classmates and friends. If I didn't change I might have not been able to graduate or handle the transition into college.
2) Today in my life I feel that my education has began to drift off course again. I feel this way because I didn't take the college placements test serious so now I am behind in the classes that I need to be in to complete my career goals. I never research what I needed to do to achieve my goal, sometimes I wish that it can just be handed to me, when I know it can't be. Also I keep putting myself down which is discouraging me to be successful. If I continue to stay off course than my dreams of being a dental hygienist will be a failure and attending college would have been pointless. But I will not let this happen, I'm in college for a purpose and I career goal that I will succeed in.

Journal Entry 19
1) It was my junior year in high school. Sitting in the middle of my government class, my teacher asked everyone that has a dog to name the type of breed it is. As I thought to myself, someone will probably have a negative comment about the type of breed my dog is, as so many people do. Surrounded by my friends and classmate it was my turn to announce to the class on what type of dog I had. "I have a American Pit Bull Terrier". My teacher looks at me in the face and says "when I was a child my neighbor was killed at only the age of 4 because of a pit bull. No matter what people say pit bulls usually always turn against their owners." Then the whole class had to say their negative comments and ask stupid question like "why do you a dog like that," "do you know they can kill people." I am so overwhelmed that this has just turned into a negative conversation. Also I feel that my classmate are judging me because of the breed of my dog. The comments are so disrespectful because they don't know my dog or how it acts, its my choice that I have this dog. If you have a negative or disrespectful opinion don't say it at all.

After that the rest of the class went on and announced what type of dogs they had. I am so glad that no one made any negative comments and that my teacher respected me enough to say that not all pit bulls are the same.

Journal Entry 16
1) A list of my successes I have created in life. My most recent success is enrolling into college because I thought I would never make it to college. Graduating from high school also passing the Oaks reading and math test to be able to graduate. Getting my drivers permit to drive, and learning how to drive. Being elected for student council three years in a roll in middle school gave me the chance to open up.
2) My personal list of skills and talents. I always have a positive attitude and always bring the positive things in negative situations. Good communication skills I'm always there to listen. I'm a very social person and I'm good at meeting new people at social gatherings. I am the best at planning gatherings, birthday parties or small trips. I'm always very creative in decorating, fashion, arts and crafts.
3) Being completely afraid of heights I walked up the Astoria lighthouse column. It was really pretty when I made it to the top, so the facing the fear was worth it. Entering college really put out of comfort zone being so used to high school. The first day was hard but as the days past it has become a lot easier, and I'm glad that I am continuing knowing that it will bring me great success.
4) At this moment I feel when ever I talk to someone about what I want to do in the future, they always tell me the negative and that its going to be difficult instead of giving me positive feed back. I want to become a dental hygienist and I know that it is going to be a lot of work, but with people not supporting me its going to be even harder. So many people say that maybe I should just be a dental assistant its a lot easier. So I have been resisting to continue on my dream thinking that I wont be able to achieve in what I want because its going to be to hard.
5) As I'm sitting at work wearing my blues scrubs thinking about how fair I have come to be in position that I am in today. I cant be anything else but be happy for myself in achieving what I have always wanted. I can smell and taste the mouth wash in the air as I hear the doctor ask for some assistance with the teeth cleaning. The feel of a patient tooth bush against my finger gives me a jolt of success.Seeing a child's face after a teeth cleaning when they get to choose their prize out of the gift box, I know that I have succeed in my career dream.

victim vs. creator
At the beginning of last year I thought that I was not going to graduate. As everybody completed their requirements I hadn't even started to complete them. I was blaming all my teachers for not given me the time to finish. I just blamed one teach particularly because she assigned way to much things at one time. Like giving us one day to write a twenty minute speech. Then I started to think that I as just not smart enough to get the work done on time or to do it correctly.
For this term and my college experience I will use my inner guide to make it through the hard times. I plan on using the creator mindset by giving myself multiply options to take effective actions to achieve what I want. I will accept what I did wrong to make the situation perfect. Accepting the personal responsibility on studying and doing my work to get good grades. In situations that I think is getting difficult, I will let my inner guide take over and tell myself that I can and I will do what ever it takes to go forward.

self-talk
My negative self-talk in my classes is telling myself that i'm not smart enough to succeed in getting good grades or passing a class. I have alwasys had a negative self-talk that has to do with school work. Instead of telling myself that im going to fail I will tell myself that I will pass. I will take it in counter to study and improve my grades. To make sure that I will achieve in getting good grades, I will take the time to study and make planes to work on my study skills. I am capable in achieveing good grades in class and passing.
