Journal Entry 29
1) This morning it was time to do my presentation, anxiety rushed through my body. Today my reading report was due and I had to present it to the class. I'm the type of person that doesn't think anything about it until its time to do it. But for some reason doing presentations in college gives me anxiety unlike high school. Knowing everyone would be judging me, my stomach just felt an terrible feeling. The emotion that I am feeling as I am writing this happiness because I got the presentation over with and it wasn't even bad.
2) Last weekend was my birthday, I was not expecting anymore presents because I thought I already received all them the night before. Before leaving to go out to dinner my mom gave me box to unwrapped, as I saw what was in the box just a jolt of happiness shocked my body. I was so happy that my mom took the time to get me something else and that it was that I have been for so long and not even expecting it. It might sound cheesy because it was just a birthday gift but some times its the small things that make you happy. As I am writing this I can still feel the emotion that I did on my birthday.
3) As I was writing about the first experience my emotional feeling did change, at the time I felt anxiety and when writing about it I felt happiness. I believe that I felt happiness because I was glad that I got it over with. Also the experience is never as bad as you feel before you do it as when you do it, that is what I have experience. The second emotion didn't change because at the time I was happy and then writing about just made me happy again.

Journal Entry 28
1) I have never liked or believe in missing class unless it was because of a illness, an appointment or something important. I have experience many opportunities where my friends tried to get me to skip so we can go do something, but usually its easy for me to turn them down. There is one specific time that really had me thinking to skip, my personal integrity had been tested. My senior year in high school my role model Lauren Conrad was doing a book signing at the Clackamas Town Center but she was going to be doing the sighing during school hours. My friend is also a huge fan and really wanted me to go with her. I was about to go, but then I realized that there will be a next time and it was more important to go to school and get my work done.
2) The commitment that I have committed to myself was in high school that I would never fall under peer pressure. Sometimes it could get hard when I had more than one friend trying to talk me into to something and sometimes I wanted to please them. If someone was trying to peer pressure me I just remembered that I promise myself that I would do what I wanted to do, so my commitment to myself was stronger than the peer pressure I received from friends or classmates. I was able to keep the commitment because I'm a strong stubborn person that does what she wants, so if someone tried to pressure me it usually ended the friendship because if they where a good friend they would have known that no one could pressure me doing something.

Journal Entry #21
1) The beginning of my senior year in high school I became very off course. Taking easy classes, not doing my homework and not studying for quiz's and test. My education was starting to became just a game because I preferred to have fun with my friend or go to sporting events. I had the choice to do homework or go to Starbucks with my friends after school, well I choice to go to Starbucks. After the next semester started to get harder I realized that I needed to start getting serious and do my work. To get myself back on course I made certain days to have fun and the other days to concentrate on school work. I knew I had to make this change if I wanted to go to college and achieve in completing my career goals. The benefits I received in changing my course was being able to graduate high school with my classmates and friends. If I didn't change I might have not been able to graduate or handle the transition into college.
2) Today in my life I feel that my education has began to drift off course again. I feel this way because I didn't take the college placements test serious so now I am behind in the classes that I need to be in to complete my career goals. I never research what I needed to do to achieve my goal, sometimes I wish that it can just be handed to me, when I know it can't be. Also I keep putting myself down which is discouraging me to be successful. If I continue to stay off course than my dreams of being a dental hygienist will be a failure and attending college would have been pointless. But I will not let this happen, I'm in college for a purpose and I career goal that I will succeed in.

Journal Entry 19
1) It was my junior year in high school. Sitting in the middle of my government class, my teacher asked everyone that has a dog to name the type of breed it is. As I thought to myself, someone will probably have a negative comment about the type of breed my dog is, as so many people do. Surrounded by my friends and classmate it was my turn to announce to the class on what type of dog I had. "I have a American Pit Bull Terrier". My teacher looks at me in the face and says "when I was a child my neighbor was killed at only the age of 4 because of a pit bull. No matter what people say pit bulls usually always turn against their owners." Then the whole class had to say their negative comments and ask stupid question like "why do you a dog like that," "do you know they can kill people." I am so overwhelmed that this has just turned into a negative conversation. Also I feel that my classmate are judging me because of the breed of my dog. The comments are so disrespectful because they don't know my dog or how it acts, its my choice that I have this dog. If you have a negative or disrespectful opinion don't say it at all.

After that the rest of the class went on and announced what type of dogs they had. I am so glad that no one made any negative comments and that my teacher respected me enough to say that not all pit bulls are the same.
